TORE®HYDROHOIST
TORE®HYDROHOIST is a slurry transportation system which lifts slurries vertically and moves them horizontally over considerable heights and distances.

How TORE®HYDROHOIST works
Merpro’s TORE®HYDROHOIST uses a pressure vessel as a solids accumulator with a TORE® inside to fluidise and transport the slurry to a desired location. The height and distance that the slurry can be transported is dependent on the motive force pressure and flow. Produced water can be used as the motive fluid.
The accumulator vessel is filled with solids (this can be from any source such as a TORE®OVD or TORE®TRAP) then pressurised using water pumped into the accumulator. The TORE® is activated, and fluidises the solids which exit the vessel through the TORE®’s discharge tube, through to the external pipework and on to the required destination. The flow of water from the pump is set for optimum flow, and the input pressure set for the required distance and height. At Merpro’s facility in Montrose, a test rig transported slurry through 150m of coiled tubing, with 100m laid out horizontally and 50m vertically, without difficulty. This simulated conditions on an offshore platform where sand had to be moved this distance and raised from the production floor to the drilling floor. The system can be designed for greater distances and heights. TORE®HYDROHOIST enables slurries to be halted during normal operation and restarted later without difficulty.
TORE®HYDROHOIST can typically be situated after a TORE®OVD, which removes sand from separator vessels, or as an integral part of a sand cleaning package.
