MERPRO MBF^TM

There are many ways to remove varying amounts of oil from produced water. For the very best results, there is only one solution. Together, Merpro and GLR Solutions have developed the Merpro MBF^TM process package, which is capable of reducing oil in water content to less than 5ppm.

Merpro will design the Micro Bubble Flotation^TM technology into horizontal or vertical vessels and API tank configurations to suit large flowrates for offshore and land based applications.

How it works

The Merpro MBF^TM is a micro bubble induced gas flotation cell. It uses Micro Bubble Flotation^TM technology developed by Canadian company GLR Solutions Ltd.

All the action takes place inside a flotation vessel, which has been specially designed for the purpose of removing suspended oil from water using gas micro bubbles.

Large quantities of these micro bubbles are generated by a unique multi-stage centrifugal onyx pump and introduced into the flow of produced water. Because they are so small, the micro bubbles readily attach themselves to even the smallest oil droplets, floating them to the surface.

International partnership

The unique Merpro/GLR relationship combines the best of both worlds: GLR's industry-leading Micro Bubble Flotation^TM technology and Merpro's innovative design and manufacturing capabilities for offshore process packages.

GLR provides the ONYX^TM pump that creates the micro bubbles, the design and configuration of the flotation vessel and the process guarantee.

Merpro engineers the complete MBF^TM package from manufacture and build, right through to testing and eventual commissioning.
