TORE®TRAP
TORE®TRAP is a wellstream desander which removes sand from well fluids, protecting equipment such as choke valves, injection pumps and inlet manifolds from sand and erosion.
Construction
The TORE®TRAP desander is a unique solitary pressure vessel with liquid/solid cyclones mounted in the top section with a TORE® mounted in the base section of the vessel. The number and size of the solid/liquid cyclones depends on the wellstream flow rates and the particle size distribution of the solids.
Solid/Liquid Cyclones
The solid/liquid cyclones are supplied in a range of sizes and are in ceramic materials.
Benefits
The TORE® enables slurry to be discharged from the desander vessel at a controlled flow rate, pressure and concentration without interference to well stream
How TORE®TRAP works
The well stream enters the solid/liquid cyclones at the top of the TORE®TRAP desander vessel. The cyclones separate sand from the oil, water and gas, with the sand dropping down to accumulate below the cyclones. The sand is removed from the desander vessel by activating the TORE® in its base. This can be undertaken on-line without isolating the desander vessel, although in very high pressure systems the vessel can be isolated as a safeguard.
TORE®TRAP desander can be used in conjunction with a TORE®SCRUB sand cleaning system to allow solids to be dumped overboard in compliance with strict environmental standards, or with TORE®HYDROHOIST system to move solids anywhere on the installation for re-injection or other disposal options.
