Health and Safety

Merpro operates with a comprehensive Health and Safety management system which follows the structure of HS(G)65 and reflects a continuous improvement approach.

The three key inputs into this cycle are:

  • Merpro's Company Policy
  • Legal requirement
  • Risk Assessment

Merpro's Health and Safety Policy statement can be viewed in the "Related Documents" section below.

Merpro’s approach to risk assessment is broad based and tailored to the particular demands of a non repetitive engineering manufacturing environment which is largely project based.  The following risk assessment strategies are used:

  • Generic activity risk assessment
  • Specific job risk assessment
  • Specialist risk assessment
  • Personal awareness

Close co-operation with clients at the outset of projects and during manufacturing, coupled with a receptive and progressive approach enables us to satisfy the requirements of customers, minimise the importation of risk to their projects and reflect the standards of the industries within which we operate.

Merpro has gained the British Safety Council International Safety Award consecutively every year since 2001.

Environmental

Merpro activities do not produce significant environmental hazards.

To ensure this Merpro operates with an environmental management system which reflects the key elements of ISO14001 and is based on a continuous improvement cycle.

The key inputs are similar to those of Health and Safety, with environmental impact assessment being the equivalent of risk assessment.

Merpro's Environmental Policy statement can be viewed in the "Related Documents" section below.
