Prestigious Accolade for Merpro Chairman

Merpro Chairman & Managing Director Bert Smith was named Angus Ambassador of the year at Carnoustie’s Golf Hotel on Friday 27th November.
Over 200 guests were present at the glittering ceremony to hear how Bert has transformed Merpro from a small fabrication outfit, to one of the largest employers in Angus, in only 30 years. Bert has also helped other companies, boosting the Angus economy through his membership of the Angus Economic Development Partnership.
Angus Provost, Ruth Leslie Melville, who was present at the awards, stated “the Angus Ambassador Awards give us the pleasure of recognising and rewarding everyone of our exceptional winners, demonstrating that success comes through initiative, commitment, drive and ability.”
The awards are an annual celebration of the achievements of the people, communities and commerce of Angus.
