Shell & Dana Petroleum Select Merpro Desanding Solution
Tuesday, 26 August 2008
Merpro has delivered Tore® Online Vessel Desanders for two vessels on Shell’s Tern platform in the UKCS.
They are for the first stage separator on Shell’s A process train and for a sister vessel on Dana Petroleum’s Hudson process train on Tern. They will be retrofitted in the vessels during the planned shut down in the summer of 2008 over a two day period.
Tore® OVD can be operated on demand by operators to remove solids as they accumulate. Once commissioned, they provide a permanent solution for the online removal of solids from the vessels, enabling them to be kept effectively solids free. Shell is an established customer for Merpro’s technologies, while this is the first order Merpro has supplied to Dana Petroleum.
